As part of this initiative, 10 DCs will receive expert training in basic and applied research, along with a thorough understanding of entrepreneurship and valorisation. Transferable skills, such as communication, entrepreneurship, intellectual property rights and ethics will be taught to all doctoral candidates with the ultimate objective of obtaining a doctoral degree (PhD).

The 10 individual research projects are related to the scientific work packages (WP2-3) and all DCs will participate in WP5, focused on creating societal impact, and led by Dr. D. Salzmann (APQ).

The doctoral training programme of INSIDE:INSIGHT consists of:

Network-Wide Training events to support the development of critical scientific and transferable skills. This includes in person annual consortium meetings, workshops, and bootcamps as well as online meetings, coaching and mentoring.

Local Training program focusing on the development of scientific skills, while also gaining supervisory and leadership abilities. The program includes activities such as hands-on experimental research, attending technical meetings, journal clubs, and seminars.

The PhD training program focuses also on active participation in conferences, workshops, and networking events to improve communication and sharing knowledge and awareness with the medical community.

It comprises secondments to promote scientific and personal development while also fostering multidisciplinary and cross-sectoral collaboration and combines debate-based learning with individual mentoring.
